FAQ - Flashiibo Pro
Flashiibo Pro
My device wouldn't turn on.
The most likely reason is that it's out of battery. Plug in the USB Type-A to Type-C charging cable to a charger and connect your Flashiibo Pro to it, a red light at the bottom will lit up. Keep it charged for at least 5 minutes, the device should turn on by itself. If none of that works as described above, send us an email at support@flashiibo.com, or reach out to the community on Discord for help.
My device is frozen.
If your device is on but frozen, in other words, not responding to button presses, please try the following.
[2nd Gen Only] Hold the OKAY (middle) button for 10 seconds. That should restart the device.
[1st Gen Only] Take a fridge magnet (or other magnetic objects) and cover the device's screen with the magnetic side. That hard resets the device.
If it can't be recovered on after all the above steps, please join the Discord or contact support@flashiibo.com for help.
My device doesn't seem to save anything.
Make sure your firmware version is 41p or greater, if not upgrade it here.
Run the storage diagnostic test following these steps
Open User Manual
Press-and-hold UP or DOWN for two seconds
Check the TEST RESULT show at the bottom, 1 indicates success and 2 indicates failure.
If it's 2, please join the Discord or contact support@flashiibo.com for further help.
How do I use Flashiibo?
Please follow the user manual. If the following FAQs are not able to address your problems, we highly recommend reaching out to the community on Discord for help.
Where to find the encryption keys and bin files?
Visit https://x.com/nfcspoofer
Why is my screen dimmed?
The screen might look dimmed when it's very low on battery. If you charge for 5 minutes, the brightness will become normal.
How do I navigation backwards?
There is usually a "Back" and/or "Main Menu" item that brings you out of the current screen. They are usually either at the top or at the bottom.
What apps are recommended to write amiibo data into Flashiibo?
On Android, we have an official app named Flashiibo Companion available in the Play Store.
On iOS, we recommend an app named Tagmiibo.
Can I use apps other than the recommended ones?
Yes. The Flashiibo is mostly NFC 215, so it is possible that some other apps capable of writing amiibos to NFC 215 tags will work too.
What should I do if writing to Flashiibo fails?
Check the following
Reboot Flashiibo by going to Settings -> System Reboot (or Power Off), and try again.
Load a different amiibo, and try again.
Switch to a different NTAG215 slot on Flashiibo Pro, and try again.
Make sure the device is fully charged.
Make sure the back of Flashiibo Pro is facing the back of the phone.
Move the Flashiibo around the back of the phone to find a sweet spot.
If the "File picker" option of Flashiibo Companion app was used to upload the data, please try the "Online drive" option instead.
If the issue remains after trying the above steps, please send us an email at support@flashiibo.com, or reach out to the community on Discord for help.
What should I do if my Switch fails to recognize Flashiibo?
Check the following
Reboot Flashiibo by going to Settings -> System Reboot (or Power Off), and try again.
Make sure amiibo feature in your game is unlocked and ACTIVATED (especially BOTW & TOTK). See this guide for more.
We highly recommend using the Joy-Cons plugged into to the switch.
If you are using the controller(s) wirelessly, make sure it's fully charged and connected.
Make sure the back of the device is facing the Joy-Con's right analog stick, or the center of the Pro Controller.
Remove button grips from right Joy-Con stick if any.
If the "File picker" option of Flashiibo Companion app was used to upload the data, please try the "Online drive" option instead.
Try swap to an empty NTAG215 slot, make an amiibo of a different character, generate a New Tag UID, and try it on Switch again.
If the issue remains after trying the above steps, please send us an email at techsupport@flashiibo.com, or reach out to the community on Discord for help.
Do I need to do anything special to make it work in Splatoon or Super Smash Bros?
No. It works out of the box for those games. However, if you have turned on "Auto Tag UID", please turn it off. These games require stable Tag UIDs.
Can I scan more than once per day in Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild?
Yes. See Special instructions for BotW and TotK section of the user manual.
What should I do if I see an error like "This is not the amiibo you scanned before"?
If you have turned on "Auto Tag UID", please turn it off. Some games require stable Tag UIDs.
What should I do if I see "This amiibo can't be used again today" in Tears of the Kingdom or Breath of the Wild?
The game you are playing requires the same identical amiibo to be scanned more than once. You can either use "New Tag UID" option to generate a new UID and try again, or turn on "Auto Tag UID" and have the device automatically generate UIDs for every scan. For more details, see Special instructions for BotW and TotK section of the user manual.
If none of that works, you can send us an email at support@flashiibo.com, or reach out to the community on Discord for help.
